Tall Tuesday: Tall Shift Dresses

Get a shift dress that fits just right!

It's Tall Tuesday, which means we have created a special style board of women's tall clothing. Today we are focusing on tall shift dresses. Wikipedia defines a shift dress as "a garment consisting of a skirt with an attached bodice (or a matching bodice giving the effect of a one-piece garment).Sheath dress also fit this definition, but are generally a bit more form fitting.
Michelle Obama has made this type of dress quite popular.It must be nice to get them all custom sized! Come on fashion designers, us tall women of the world deserve the same attention!

For the rest of us, tall shift dresses are easily dressed up with sophisticated jewelry and a pair of heels. They make fabulous holiday dresses! Dress them down by pairing with a cardigan and a pair of knee high boots. Another look is to add a turtleneck or crisp white shirt under the dress and if desired, finish off with a belt around the waist.

    Anything with a waist will help break up a straight figure as it draws the eye in. The 3rd option the origami dress should help. Another trick would be to buy a ruffly or a wide belt and wear around the waist of any shift dress as it will help create curves again by drawing the eye in.
    A cropped cardigan over the top is fashionable too!

    Do we know who designs for Michelle Obama?

    Just bought a sweater dress that I suppose could be called a shift dress as it seems to have a similar design at least in the front. And it's gray which seems to be a popular color based on what I see here.

    I don't know who designs for Michelle Obama, but I've seen top designers make her formal dresses. I think top designers make them custom made. Gray is the new black and can be worn as a neutral. Sweater dresses are very popular this season. Where did you get it?
