Tall Personal Shopping: Long Evening Gown

I received a personal shopping request via Facebook for a long evening gown with long sleeves in a small tall. She's like it to not be frumpy. :) I don't have any specific of height or her inseam length. Have a price range would be helpful too.

When submitting personal shopping requests, I need height, inseam lengths and as much info you can give me, such as where you are going to wear the item.

As you already know, finding something to fit your arms and be long enough, is a monumental task. Plus, finding it proportioned correctly for tall bodies are even harder. I don't understand why fashion designers don't give measurements on most items. It drives me batty.

 I'm sorry, but you may have to settle for just close enough. Maybe I need to design some long evening gowns and prom dresses! Here are the best options I can find:

Long Maxi Skirts

Maxi skirts are a nice option for tall women as they are extra long and easy to find. The great news is that maxi skirts look best on tall women! Wear them in any length from mid-calf to floor length. They can easily be dressed up or down depending on your shoes and accessories. Many long maxi skirts can be worn as swimsuit cover ups. Now that it's Summer it's easy to pair your maxi skirt with a tank top, slim t-shirt, or a cropped shirt or jacket.

ModCloth - Vintage Style Clothes - Longer Lengths

Thank heavens that more clothing choices exist for tall women! High school was absolutely brutal for me. I had a terrible time finding pants, shirts, shorts or anything long enough. Now, I have no problem finding clothes are long enough and stylish clothes are no longer out of reach.

Sometimes I find longer length clothing in unexpected places. One such store is ModCloth. They specialize in new - yet vintage style clothing. Many items are in longer lengths and will work for tall women. Here are a few of my favorites:

Drawing Room Dress - elegant long maxi dress in lengths of 61.5" - 63". This dress would be gorgeous for formal style weddings. Dress it up with fancy jewelry. Note: They also have lots of longer length maxi dresses.

Frilled to Meet You Tunic - flirty, yet sophisticated. Pair over a pencil skirt, skinny jeans, or leggings.

Trail of Clouds Skirt

- this skirt is an eye turner. Shorter in front and longer in back. It exudes confidence.

One of the Longest Maxi Dresses

Maxi dresses continue as a hot trend! For a casual look, just pair with sandals. For a dressy look, just add some accessories, such as platform wedge shoes, chunky jewelry, or a shrug.
One of the longest maxi dresses I have found is from Height Goddess. Choose from a 50" or 55" inseam length. The longer one has an overall length of 64" measured from the shoulder.
